My name is Darren Kennedy, youngest son of Keith Kennedy a Hawkesbury turf farmer (PRESIDENT TURF) who started growing quality turf in the early 70's.
The main thing I have in common with Dad is a passion for a quality lawn & pride in the work I do.

I have worked on countless turf projects on golf courses from Newcastle to Wollongong and in sports stadiums including ANZ & Campbelltown.
After 30 years of contracting to or working for various buisnesses in the turf industry, I decided to concentrate on residential homes & small commercial sites.

Turf Varieties

There is a wide range of turf varieties available in Australia.
The varieties I sell are in my opinion the best performing grasses in the greater sydney region

Sir Walter Buffalo

  • Has a lush deep green soft leaf.
  • Shade tolerant up to 75% with well-drained soil.
  • Performs very well in full sun with a very good recovery rate from wear.
  • Good winter colour.
  • Good drought tolerance.

Prestige Softleaf Buffalo

  • Has a deep green leaf.
  • Shade tolerant up to 60% with well-drained soil.
  • Performs very well in full sun with very good recovery rate from wear.
  • Excellent winter colour.
  • Lower maintenance compared to other more well-known varieties.

Barefoot Buffalo

  • Has a very soft bright green soft leaf.
  • Shade tolerant up to 55% with well-drained soil.
  • Performs very well in full sun with good recovery rate from wear.
  • Excellent winter colour.

Kikuyu

A budget variety of lawn that is fast growing (making it ideal for council sports fields & your own yard) which makes its recovery time from wear & tear much faster than many other varieties. Its use is widespread from the family home to council sports fields & golf courses.

Wintergreen Couch

One of the most commonly used Couch varieties in the Sydney metro area. It has a very fine blade with a yellowy green colour. Mainly used in domestic situations but is also used in council parklands.
